Earth Day Mural with Modern Leadership
The MCA (Museum of Contemporary art) was looking for innovative concepts that utilize the large wall space outside their exhibit space creatively and complement the location. The completed mural will be revealed to the public on Saturday, April 24, 2021, on the final day of the virtual Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival .
My mural design is inspired by Amanda Gorman and a new generation of leaders. Their leadership is fierce and bold, they protect the environment and prioritize equality across genders, races, ages and continents.
Amanda Gorman and many more are paving the way to create this new world and inspire changes that happen in our minds first before they lead to effective actions.
I want to give hope for us to rise to the new earth challenges: “Trust this earth uprising”.
The challenge was to create something for a large wall that is do-able and realistic to accomplish in a short amount of time...therefor the limited color palette and strong vector feel.
